SCSU administration makes changes

SCSU president Earl Potter sent an e-mail faculty Sunday informing the SCSU campus of recent administration changes that have been made at SCSU. "In my first year as president of St. Cloud State University, I've had the opportunity first hand to work with the University's fine administrative leadership team," Potter said in the e-mail.

.357 String Band raises hell

In front of a stage drop for the play "Grease," a band took the stage Wednesday at Pioneer Place on Fifth looking like a strange mixture between punk rockers, metal heads and country musicians known as the .357 String Band. The four piece outfit, comprised of an acoustic guitar, mandolin, banjo and a stand-up bass performed foot-stomping, hell-raising music which compromised a darker edge to the country/bluegrass genre.

Rud brings SCSU skills to USA hockey

The Team USA Under-17 national hockey squad is finding itself being guided by a key St. Cloud part. SCSU's men's hockey assistant coach Eric Rud, has been named the team's head coach. The team will participate in the 2008 Under-17 Five Nations Tournament from August 19-24 in Prievidza, Slovakia.

Future police train at SCSU

After 485 hours of classroom sessions that involved a wide array of topics from traffic law, firearms safety and crime scene investigations, 38 students graduated from SCSU's new peace officer program. The course, spread out over 10 weeks, gave the graduates the credentials they need to take the Minnesota Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) licensure test come August.

Gotham City has turned into a rebellious 15-year-old who just cannot seem to stay out of trouble and attracts random whackjobs. Batman's seemingly never-ending stream of criminals was augmented this weekend with the release of his battle against "the Joker" and a good guy turned bad that we all know and love as "Two-Face.

River Bats plummet in standings

River Bats plummet in standings

Before the All-Star break, the St. Cloud River Bats looked destined to win the Northwoods League North Division second-half title. What a difference a week makes. After a blistering stretch where they won 15 of 16 games, the River Bats have lost six games in a row, including four in a row at home this past week.
